Lame Flatmates

Something stinks here like one-sided journalism. Let's get the full picture, my fellow pursuers of the whole truth (obviously not talking to you, Dorkko).

I got back to Stanford on Tuesday night, pulling in around 9pm after 11 hours of driving. Who do I see first? Certainly not my flatmates. Instead, I had the privilege of seeing Sei. And good thing she was hanging at our place, or else I wouldn't have seen anyone. Why? Because my flatmates, Ted and Duj, were busy playing a computer game upstairs. In fact, when Sei yelled up to them to announce the arrival of Flatmate #4, they yelled down, "WE'RE PREOCCUPIED!"

And it wasn't like, "Hold on a second till we can pause the game." They played over an hour more until the game was over. During this period, our typically absent flatmate, T, even came back to welcome me. Let me clarify: T made a special trip away from work to come back and greet me, and then returned to work. Can we see who the better flatmate is? Ted and Danny complain that they never see T around. Clearly they don't see him, even when he is home.

So, the morals of this tragic story:
1. Don't listen to Ddonggo. (Ted was smart to stay silent. In shame.)
2. Come visit 307, where at least I will give you a warm welcome. I obviously can't speak for the rest of my flatmates, who will probably just stay sitting at their computers. You may manage to get a quick "hey" yelled at you if you beg at their doors, but don't expect them to actually turn a head or wave a hand. That would be too much for their simple minds.

New Flatmate

So the Bungster arrived a couple days ago.  He's starting to get settled in.  Ted and I went in to say hello and chat.  After we manage to get his attention (he had his headphones on), he turns around, snidely uncovers one ear, and asks, "What do you guys want?"  No wonder it felt like his room had air conditioning.
